Mounts Bay Event

St. Ives' racing gig Defiance was towed to Mount's Bay on Saturday for their annual event. Weather conditions were again ideal for rowing, with only a gentle breeze and patchy sunshine.

In their first race, the St. Ives mens' A crew rowed with typical determination, finishing 14th out of the 22 clubs attending. The mens' and ladies' B races followed, with St. Ives achieving 13th and    17th places respectively. In a frustrating race the ladies A crew were ultimately disqualified due to a lengthy snarl up on the 1st buoy, where Cadgwith failed to give them priority, despite umpires instructions.

After the hard fought veterans race, St Ives crowned their day with a convincing 3rd placed over all in the mixed race; the crew consisted of Pete Preston, Mark James  ,Richie Boucher, Naomi Perkin, Jane Holmes and Ros Atherton.,
